What has influenced you?

My body of work, Absorption explores counter-culture. My fascination with understanding what drives social movements has spearheaded the deep dive into the work; more intimately understanding the nuances that either cause cultures to peak, decline or hit a point of critical mass, thus absorbing into mainstream culture.

In a world that can be traced back to few sources of influence, this body of work draws to the audiences front of mind the ways in which we’ve all been influenced by brands and societal constructs. Absorption explores the personal, seemingly irrelevant, choices we make, and draws parallels to how this has impacted the way we  create our lives.

From the brands we buy to the ornaments we choose to place closest to us, our homes are sacred spaces, where seemingly insignificant corners give great insight into our character, our temperament, our beliefs and our rituals. It’s those mundane moments that provide subtle commentary on society as a whole.

I’m curating a selection of individuals, with varying degrees of influence and background to uncover what truly drives them.
